JANUARY 2011 - Remedial work

Listen to the first seven episodes of "The Flatmates", a BBC online language course. Follow these instructions:

1. once you are in the first episode, click on 'Hide the text'

2. now click on 'Listen to the episode' and listen carefully. Try to understand as much as you can.

3. then click on 'Show the text' and on 'Listen to the episode', so that you can listen and read at the same time.

4. when you have understood the episode, click on 'Language Point' to revise the language functions of the episode; then take the 'Quiz'.


5. repeat the previous four steps for the next six episodes (clicking on 'Go to next episode').


In addition, download the script of the seven episodes here and be ready to talk about the characters and the plot.




CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES (HOMEWORK FOR JANUARY 2011)


1. CHRISTMAS TIME!


Read the questions (written after these instructions) and answer them by recording your voice here (of course you need a microphone!):

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. listen to my message (click on the Play button, near my photo)
2. click on 'Record a message' (the red button): RECORD.jpg this message will appear on your screen: ‘You need to sign up or log in.’
3. click on ‘Take me to the signup page’: complete the form with the required details. To confirm, at the bottom of the page click on ‘I agree, sign me up!
4. this message will appear: ‘You’re now signed up and logged in.’ Click on ‘Click here to return to where you were before signing up.’

5. click again on 'Record a message': say your first name, just the initial of your surname (for example: Anna C.), your class, and start speaking. At the end of your recording, click on STOP. TASTI.jpg
6. now click on PLAY to listen to your recording. If you are satisfied with it, click on ‘Save message’. SAVE.jpg
If you aren’t, click on ‘Cancel’ and repeat your recording. Finally, click on 'Save message'.
